Hi beautiful heart
Well I did it! The NZ Art Show was a wonderful experience. I met inspiring and exciting art collectors, incredibly talented artists, and a whole host of young, fresh and savvy young students. I learned so, so much about so many different things I never expected and I’m beyond excited about all the beauty waiting to happen next.
One thing is clear…
My iNiTiATiON
into the world of abstract art is now complete
and the next step is now being revealed.
Being in and around so many incredibly talented artists at the NZ Art Show was like walking naked through a wild forest.
In some ways it was bold and freeing, and in others it was the scariest, most frightening thing I’ve ever done. And while I didn’t win any awards, nor did I earn enough money (yet) to buy the fancy new van I’d like to get for hauling these huge pieces around, I did sell probably the largest piece of work to be sold over the weekend, and learned through so much positive reinforcement that there is something special and unique about the art that is unfurling it’s way through my being me.
I came to appreciate the layers, depth and texture of this art and realized how many of it’s compositions can go in all four directions is unique in itself. And that is where the conversation lights me up from the inside out. I LOVE texture. I LOVE layers. I LOVE looking at things from multiple different perspectives. And I thrive in the depths of goodness, truth and beauty.
Where the last three years has been about why I started painting,
I now find myself percolating in what I offer YOU
as we collaborate in rewriting the future through abstract ART.
Why do I show up to my easel every day that I do?
How does what comes out come out?
What is my art all about?
How is it different to other art in what it offers and the frequency it imbibes?
My work is a collaborative experience in abstraction…
a conversation between me and the canvas
as the painting itself is found …
and then,
multiple collaborations ensue,
where through the various viewers lens of perceptions
and their different stories received,
through imbibing it’s vibe for a moment in time,
more layers of the tale that has been told, weave their way
through the ethers of the viewing experience,
imbuing the viewer them self.
Tale upon tale an abstract world is woven through the various ways of seeing the various aspects here to be seen. No right nor wrong, just various experiences to be had and shared in the presence of art rewriting the future in it’s own new way.
I’m excited to explore this unfurling of abstraction more deeply in the months to come as I prepare for the next big thing, yet to reveal itself… I’m open to suggestions… will it be a show or a gallery exhibition? Or?? In the One Step Plan I am on a need to know basis with the creativity as it unfurls it’s magic.
Let’s see what comes next.
What is Next?
The part I do know in my next adventure is in creating the coffee table book I’ve been working on for the past year or so and redesigning my website. AND, prints will be available soon of selected pieces – so stay tuned for that (and please feel free to ping me back your ideas on the ones you would like to see put into print. I’m thinking The Evolving Face of I AM Sam, which got so much attention over the weekend, will be available as a limited edition print, what do you think?).
In the meantime, thank you to all who came to talk, share, dance, stand in silence and tilt your heads from side to side with me. I sure did appreciate every single conversation I had, all the sales that were made, the seeds that were planted and the tales that were told. I learned so much about how art is rewriting the future in each moment it breathes new life. I am eternally grateful for this path, the leap of faith I took in saying yes and the support that continues to show up along the way to keep me on it’s path. I love how art continues to flow, in both my waking and sleeping hours! I know in my bones that the future is positive, that we each have our role to play and that as we delve into the depths of our own creative selves we nurture the seeds that will grow the future we were born to live.
Until next time,
much love
Carmel Boone
